On the 25th of November 2023, Vealth.me proudly conducted a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program by planting trees at the beautiful Taman Botani Negara Shah Alam (TBNSA). Our sincere appreciation goes out to TBNSA for allowing us to conduct this program.
The Vealth.me team successfully planted the sapling at the entrance area of TBNSA, marking a significant milestone in our commitment to corporate social responsibility. The saplings planted during this program included:
- 113 saplings of White Cupea
- 57 saplings of Purple Cupea
- 20 saplings of Ananas Eruption
En Amal, the person in charge (PIC) from TBNSA, emphasized the vital role these plants play in creating a lush landscape. Not only do they serve as a source of motivation for visitors to explore the park, but they also contribute to maintaining the park's aesthetic charm.
The event was not just about planting trees; it was a shared experience that brought the Vealth.me team bonding together. Over the course of 1 hour and 30 minutes, we invested our time and effort into this endeavor, creating a powerful bonding session.
Beyond the immediate impact on the landscape, we believe that initiatives like these inspire others to engage in similar acts of environmental force. As we plant the seeds of change, we hope to cultivate a sense of responsibility towards the environment, encouraging both our team and the wider community to actively participate in nurturing the world we live in.
In conclusion, our CSR tree planting at TBNSA was not just a one-time event; it was a small yet significant step towards creating a more sustainable and harmonious coexistence with nature. We look forward to continuing our efforts in contributing to the well-being of both our communities and the environment.
Together, we can nurture a greener, healthier future for generations to come.
Minister of Health, Dr Zaliha Mustafa indicated that the National Health and Morbidity Survey 2019 found that the prevalence of diabetes in Malaysia was the highest in Southeast Asia, recording a significant increase from 11.2% in 2011 to 18.3% in 2019.
This alarming statistic prompted our Prime Minister, Anuar Ibrahim to urge all ministers to reduce sugar intake during any gathering or function, addressing this critical problem that will impact the new generation in Malaysia.
Notably, diabetes is one of the three well-known chronic diseases, alongside hypertension and heart disease. Complications arising from diabetes, without proper care, can lead to chronic kidney disease, adding an additional burden to individuals.
Every health issue has a way to prevent it from occurring because, as we know, prevention is better than the cure. While a cure may require extra costs, prevention can be assimilated into our lifestyle. Here is the secret to preventing any disease worldwide that people often neglect: a healthy lifestyle.
Main Core - Food Intake
It is undeniable that maintaining a proper balanced diet is becoming a challenge for us.
"Healthy food is expensive."
"If only I had time to prepare food at home."
"It's hard to find healthy food resources."
This results in many people opting for undesirable choices such as fast food because it's fast and convenient. We believe that every petrol station will have a fast-food store for citizens.
A balanced diet refers to food intake (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) with complete nutrients from carbohydrates, protein, and fat. By following MyHealthy Plate Malaysia, we should consume a portion of 1/4 portion of carbohydrates, 1/4 portion of protein, and 1/2 portion of vegetables. However, most of us consume carbohydrates and protein simultaneously, neglecting the vegetable portion.
Additionally, with improper food proportions, Malaysian citizens often consume soft beverages and high-sugar beverages, whether in a mall or mamak, without considering the long-term effects.
Disclaimer: It's not that you cannot drink sugary beverages, and it shouldn't be banned in Malaysia. Instead, individuals should limit their desires and intake, and awareness is crucial.
While it's commendable that the Prime Minister introduced a new strategy to limit sugar during functions, it becomes effective only if individuals can restrain themselves. What if they order sugary beverages and bring them to the function?
In short, it's something we cannot entirely control. Still, raising awareness and instigating changes from within is the way to cope with this issue.
Diabetes is a condition where the sugar level in the blood is higher than normal, and if left uncontrolled, it can lead to other unwanted complications such as heart disease, chronic kidney disease, nerve damage, and more.
It's up to you to choose: limit sugar intake and eat healthily, or suffer from diseases and need to limit:
The choice is in your hands. Choose a healthy and happier future, or suffer the consequences of past choices.
Sales is the top priority for every company worldwide. Regardless of the industry, sales serves as the key performance indicator (KPI) that measures success and the quality of service delivered to clients.
However, we're not here to discuss technical aspects such as employee skill set training or incentives for achieving targets or KPIs. It's assumed that you already take the initiative to provide comprehensive training and guidance in those areas. Instead, we want to address an often overlooked factor that directly impacts employees: their health and well-being.
Wait, does good health and wellness actually contribute to increased sales? It may seem surprising, but let the facts speak for themselves.
A meta-analysis of 225 academic studies revealed that happy employees exhibit, on average, 31% higher productivity and achieve 37% higher sales. Moreover, a paper published by the Social Market Foundation highlighted an even more significant impact of happiness on salespeople, showing a potential increase of up to 37% in sales.
One common mistake made by numerous companies is placing profits above the mental well-being of their employees, disregarding the fact that employees are the backbone of any business. No employees, there is no business. The formula is simple: happier employees lead to increased productivity and higher sales.
If your team is unhappy in their roles, the turnover rate is likely to rise, resulting in disruptions in production and significant expenses incurred in recruiting and training replacements. Conversely, happy employees are more productive and willingly contribute greater efforts to the company's growth, ultimately leading to increased profits.
Additionally, studies have shown that companies with happier employees tend to outperform their competitors by 20%. Furthermore, these content teams strive to accomplish more compared to their unhappy counterparts. Therefore, ensuring your team remains satisfied with their roles is of utmost importance.
To add to the significance of employee satisfaction, an eye-opening study revealed that close work friendships can boost employee satisfaction by a staggering 50%!
In conclusion, focusing on the well-being of your employees can be a powerful weapon to increase sales and productivity. By fostering a positive and supportive work environment, investing in employee happiness, and nurturing strong work relationships, your company can thrive and achieve remarkable success.
Remember, happy employees are not just a valuable asset; they are the driving force behind your company's growth and profitability.

We often hear about companies conducting medical check-ups for their employees or providing medical check-up benefits. However, it makes us wonder if they truly understand the chronology of medical check-ups or if they simply follow the company's policies and regulations.
Let's take a closer look at the chronology of health checks and why it is important to approach them correctly.
In fact, proper health checks can benefit a company more than they may realize. According to a 2016 study on the Medical Cost Analysis of a School District Worksite Wellness Program, employees who participated in the wellness program had lower average medical claim costs compared to non-participants. The wellness program resulted in cost savings of $3,612,402 over three years, which is equivalent to RM16,795,863.10!
You might wonder why we are discussing wellness programs instead of focusing solely on health checks. Consider it from a different perspective:
Why are wellness programs conducted in the first place?
Is it just for fun?
Is it merely to meet KPIs, or does it actually play a vital role within a company?
The answer is simple: Wellness programs aim to address health and wellness issues faced by employees. This answer, in turn, resolves problems within the company itself. Take a look at the projected figure for three years to see how many companies can save through long-term health management via wellness programs.
Here is the chronology of health checks that companies should know:

Is the bad cholesterol level high?
Is there a presence of diabetes?
Are there high blood pressure or heart diseases?
(These results can be obtained from medical reports.)
Why is the cholesterol level high? Is it due to an unhealthy lifestyle, such as consuming excessive fried food? Or is it influenced by economic status or the environment?
What about high blood pressure? Could it be due to a lack of knowledge regarding foods with high sodium content?
Creating awareness is crucial to initiate action among individuals facing health issues. It helps them understand the consequences of untreated cholesterol or the impact it can have on their careers, families, and personal lives. Encourage them to visualize the effects in the next 10 years.
During the awareness stage, companies often conduct health talks focusing on specific issues, such as hypertension, to address core problems effectively.
The fourth step involves taking action based on the knowledge and awareness gained during the third stage. Let's consider the example of high blood pressure. The action stage could entail individuals with high blood pressure avoiding processed foods and increasing their intake of vegetables to help control their blood pressure. Sometimes, simple actions can make a significant difference.
According to the same study, participants who joined the wellness program and remained employed for the next six years continued to apply the knowledge they gained during the program. Imagine the cost that we are able to reduce in 6 years!
In conclusion, understanding the chronology of health checks and incorporating wellness programs can bring significant benefits to a company. By identifying health issues, creating awareness, and taking action, companies can promote employee well-being and save on medical costs in the long run.
We are taking action now for our future and Mahatma Gandhi has once made this statement that the future depends on what you do today. Early detection for prevention and long run behavioral changes is needed when it involves health!

Coffee-drinking culture is very common amongst Malaysians. Regardless of age, people drink coffee all the time, whether for breakfast, during lunch, or late at night for overtime workers. Most people develop the habit of drinking coffee during their teenage years because it helps them stay awake and alert. Unlike in the past, coffee products now vary, such as instant coffee, freshly brewed coffee, capsule coffee, and more. Office workers mainly drop by cafés early in the morning to get their coffee on the go.
Investing in coffee machines at the workplace can be advantageous for employees. Coffee machines provided in the office allow for limitless accessibility to coffee, which can increase the productivity of workers throughout the day by helping them stay alert and focused. Providing refreshments such as coffee also means that employees do not need to take long breaks to buy coffee at a café, reducing lost work time and saving on delivery costs

Providing coffee machines in the workplace can also help to create a sociable working environment. Enjoying coffee breaks with colleagues can strengthen bonds and allow employees to take a break from stress and relax. This can improve the mood of the working environment and boost employee motivation to work harder. Moreover, coffee consumption, which increases alertness and reduces sluggishness, can improve overall communication and collaboration at the workplace.
Getting a freshly brewed coffee is definitely a better option in terms of nutritional value for employees. Studies have shown that brewed coffee contains more antioxidants than ground coffee, which is less processed. Compared to instant coffee, brewed coffee is a better choice as it is free of sugar and other additives. Fresh milk can be added to brewed coffee to give it a creamy and velvety taste
Offering free-flow coffee at the workplace is also considered as a perk for staff. This shows that the company is very considerate of the welfare of the employees. By providing convenient perks for staff, companies can instill and retain staff loyalty. On another note, coffee can be served to clients who drop by the office for short meetups, creating a warm welcome and a good impression of the company.
To conclude, creating a healthy workplace lifestyle requires initiative from all parties involved. Providing perks such as installing a coffee machine can lead to a more productive and enjoyable work environment for employees.

Working in a corporate office setting all day with limited physical movement can be exhausting and can lead to various health issues, such as carpal tunnel syndrome, tendinitis, trigger finger, muscle strains, and especially lower back injuries. These problems often occur when workers maintain the same posture for extended periods or engage in repetitive, awkward motions that put pressure on their bodies. To alleviate these issues, ergonomic solutions such as adjustable chairs, ergonomic keyboards, and other workplace arrangements and products are designed to increase comfort and productivity, reduce the risk of injury, and prevent wear and tear on the body.
Ergonomics is crucial because it helps prevent symptoms of fatigue, discomfort, or pain caused by factors such as awkward posture, poor workstation design, repetitive motion, or exposure to extreme temperatures. Ignoring the initial signs of these issues can lead to the development of musculoskeletal disorders over time. By implementing ergonomic solutions, individuals can reduce their risk of experiencing these problems and promote a healthier, more productive work environment.
Implementing ergonomics in the workplace offers numerous advantages, such as reducing the risk of discomfort and pain for employees by improving their posture and reducing muscle strain. Additionally, ergonomic improvements can increase worker productivity and reduce the cost of injuries by minimizing compensation claims. As a result, implementing ergonomics can help to reduce absenteeism and create a more comfortable and productive work environment for employees.
Ergonomic solutions are designed to relieve the body of stress and promote more comfortable and healthy working conditions. For example, workers can avoid awkward bending postures by using extension handles to pick up items and using higher back chairs with lumbar support and support under the legs. In a corporate office setting, workers can adjust their chairs and computer workstations to fit their bodies comfortably and keep frequently used items within easy reach.
Additionally, workers can reduce neck strain by avoiding holding the phone with their neck and instead using headphones and keeping their body in a natural position. By implementing these ergonomic solutions, workers can reduce their risk of discomfort and pain, and create a more productive work environment.
As Vealthme is one of the health and wellness providers in Malaysia, our corporate wellness program also offers webinars on ergonomic health topics. These health talks are conducted by our partnered certified chiropractor. Through these sessions, we aim to create greater awareness among corporate employees and implement ergonomic solutions.
Hari Raya Aidilfitri is a time of celebration and togetherness, but it can also be a time of indulgence and unhealthy eating habits. To maintain a healthy lifestyle during this festive season, it's important to make mindful choices when it comes to food.
Here are some tips on how to eat healthy during Hari Raya Aidilfitri:
1️⃣ Eat in small portions sizes or quantities
Eating in small portions is a healthy habit that can benefit us in many ways, especially during festive seasons like Hari Raya. One of the main advantages of eating in small portions is that it can help us to control our portion sizes and prevent overeating. During Hari Raya, it is common to be surrounded by an abundance of delicious foods and drinks that can be tempting to indulge in excessively. By eating in small portions, we can still enjoy the festive treats without going overboard and feeling bloated or uncomfortable afterward
2️⃣ Choose low-calorie foods
Choosing low-calorie food during Hari Raya can help maintain a healthy diet and prevent excessive weight gain. It is essential to choose foods that are nutrient-dense, which means they provide a lot of nutrients for relatively few calories. Opt for fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grains that are naturally low in calories but high in fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Avoid deep-fried and high-fat foods such as serunding, ketupat, and rendang, as they are typically high in calories and saturated fat. Instead, choose dishes that are grilled, boiled, or steamed, such as grilled chicken or fish, boiled vegetables, and steamed rice.
3️⃣ Choose high-fiber foods
Choosing high-fiber foods is a smart choice during Hari Raya as they help you feel fuller for longer, which can prevent overeating. Some good high-fiber options include whole grains such as brown rice, oatmeal, and quinoa, as well as vegetables like broccoli, carrots, and sweet potatoes. These foods also tend to be lower in calories than other options like fried foods and sugary snacks, which can help you maintain a healthy weight during the festive season. Additionally, high-fiber foods are beneficial for digestive health and can help regulate blood sugar levels
4️⃣ Limit the intake of sweet and fatty foods such as dodol
One way to limit the intake of sweets and fatty foods is to practice portion control. Instead of filling up on large portions of rich foods, try to eat smaller amounts and savor the flavors. Additionally, drinking plenty of water can help to fill up the stomach and reduce the urge to overeat. Another way to limit the intake of unhealthy foods is to choose healthier alternatives.
5️⃣ Choose fresh fruits as snacks or desserts
Choosing fresh fruits as snacks or desserts during Raya is a great way to indulge in something sweet and healthy at the same time. Fresh fruits are great choices as they are low in calories, high in fiber, and packed with vitamins and minerals. These fruits are also a great source of hydration, which is especially important during the hot and humid weather of Raya season. Other healthy snack options include nuts and seeds, like almonds, cashews, and sunflower seeds, which are high in healthy fats, protein, and fiber.
6️⃣ Limit the intake of high-salt foods
Hari Raya is a time for celebration and feasting, and traditional snacks like kerepek pisang and kerepek ubi are often enjoyed during this festive period. While these snacks are delicious, they are often high in calories, salt, and fat. As such, it is important to consume them in moderation and balance them out with healthier options.
One way to limit your intake of high-calorie snacks is to practice portion control. Instead of eating a whole bag of kerepek pisang, try to limit yourself to a small handful at a time. You can also choose to share a bag with friends and family to avoid overindulging.
7️⃣ Drink plain water instead of carbonated or sweetened drinks
Drinking plain water is always a great choice for staying hydrated during festive occasions like Raya. Carbonated drinks and sugary drinks such as soda, energy drinks, and fruit juices may contain high amounts of sugar and calories, which can be detrimental to your health if consumed in excess.
Not forgetting, we are happy to provide you with a list of Kuih Raya and their respective calorie counts as well as the KKM Guideline to eat during Hari Raya so that you can make informed choices during Raya!
In conclusion, Hari Raya Aidilfitri doesn't have to mean sacrificing your healthy eating habits. By following these simple tips, you can enjoy the festive season while still maintaining a balanced and nutritious diet.
Happy Hari Raya Aidilfitri!
